Build it with us
Witchspace is built in the open by the people who love it, and most of what it needs isn't code: ships, characters, stories, playtesting and good arguments about design.
Design a ship
Every ship is a small file of points, faces and a glow colour. Browse the fleet and improve one, or draw your own.
Write the galaxy
Saloon regulars, company people, trail stories, rumours. Dry, wry and a little lawless.
Build a Legend
Rare ships that tip their hat to great science fiction. Evoke the idea, never copy the design.
Playtest
Fly it, break it, tell us how it feels. Good bug reports are gold.
Shape the design
Suggest ideas and vote on what comes next. Every feature is designed in the open first.
Code
TypeScript and three.js: flight, combat, the economy, the shared galaxy. Start with a good first issue.
How to start
- PlayFly a few runs, so you know what it feels like.
- Pick somethingFrom help wanted below, or something you'd love to see.
- Say helloEmail hello@witchspace.org.uk or post on the ideas board, and we'll help you get going. No GitHub needed.
- Hand it inMade a ship or a Titanoboa module? Hand it in here: it's checked as you go and credited to your callsign. No GitHub needed. Or shape a ship from scratch in the ship editor.

Bring your own AI
Witchspace is built to work with AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. Ask yours to "design a pirate gunship for Witchspace" and it will check its work against the game's own rules. You're still the author: play-test what you submit, and say it was AI-assisted.
Add Witchspace to your assistant
There are two addresses. Add the one you need, or both.
To read and check, with no sign-in: check a ship against the rules, draw it beside a Cobra for scale, read every design and help-wanted task, and look up any system. Nothing you do with it changes anything.

To hand work in: the same tools, plus handing in ships and Titanoboa modules as you, and following their review. Adding it sends you to a page on this site to sign in and say yes; nothing goes public until a maintainer accepts it.

- ChatGPT: Settings, Connectors (developer mode), Create, and paste an address.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http witchspace https://space.witchspace.org.uk/mcp/build(or/mcpto only read) - Cursor and others: add it as a remote MCP server (streamable HTTP).
How it works, and what's next. A plain summary of the project for any AI lives at /llms.txt.
